What We Believe
We believe in One God
“For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus” (1 Timothy 2:5).
“I and my Father are one” (John 10:30).
We believe that the God of the Old Testament is the God of the New Testament. His name is Jesus.
“Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord.”
We believe the Bible is His divine, expressed Word.
“All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness” (2 Timothy 3:16).
“For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart” (Hebrews 4:12).
We believe that the Bible is the word of God and, therefore, the ultimate authority on all things.
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God”
We believe in Repentance
“For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death” (2 Corinthians 7:10).
“Repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem” (Luke 24:47).
We believe that true encounters with God will sometimes always produce change.
“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature”
We believe in Baptism
“Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God” (John 3:5).
“Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost” (Matthew 28:19).
We believe that baptism—by immersion, in the name of Jesus—is absolutely essential to salvation.
“He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved”
We believe the Holy Ghost is for everyone.
Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.” (Acts 2:38-39)
“He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed?” (Acts 19:2).
“And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance” (Acts 2:4).
We believe that one must be born again, both “of the water and of the spirit” (John 3:5), to be saved. This spiritual rebirth happens when one is filled with the Holy Ghost, with evidence of speaking in tongues. Scripture clearly teaches that Holy Ghost baptism was not merely a tool for the first-century church, but a gift from God to be enjoyed by all people, of all backgrounds, for all generations.
“And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh.”
We believe in Holiness
“Put difference between holy and unholy, and between unclean and clean” (Leviticus 10:10).
“But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation…” (1 Peter 2:9).
“Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things” (Philippians 4:8).
To be “holy” means to be “separate”. We believe that a true Christian must distinguish between what is right and what is wrong. Though we live in the world, we are not of the world.
“Ye shall be holy; for I am holy.”
We believe in freedom from sin.
“For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death” (Romans 8:2).
“Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness” (Romans 6:18).
We believe that all people—regardless of past mistakes, struggles or circumstances—can be freed from sin. Jesus Christ has conquered death, hell and the grave. Through Him, we are victorious!
“But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ”
